Public Greenspace Initiative

Public Green Space Initiative works to connect and unite our local communities throughout Yancey Country North Carolina by creating sustainable public green spaces that will conserve land, preserve natural resources, and offer public access to walking paths and river points open to everyone. Our work fosters environmental stewardship, education on our native species, supports local resilience, and promotes well-being for all.

Our current projects

We are in the process of procuring land to create a public park with walking trails, education and native flora and fauna, with public nature spaces for rest and wellbeing.

We continue to work to collaborate with local groups to revitalizing the riverbanks of Yancey County that were affected by Hurricane Helene and to transform these areas into accessible public spaces, allowing everyone to enjoy the beauty of our rivers.

By donating you can join us in our efforts to restore and enhance our community's natural resources for future generations.

Together, we can create a vibrant and welcoming environment for all.
